Former Miss Ireland – Sacha Livingstone
The gorgeous Ellen Connolly dropped down to the studio a while ago for a shoot to get some new looks for her book and to get some good Wexford fresh air. Ellen is a stunning model currently with Assets.
Meet Christina, the beautiful Romanian Model, based in Abu Dhabi but who travels the world. I found Christina on Model Mayhem while searching for models to shoot in Dubai. I was visiting Australia in February 2016, with a stop off in Dubai, so it was a great opportunity to get a shoot in or two.
We only had 2 hours to shoot in my place in Dubai, a 34th floor apartment. It was some natural looks, minimal makeup, nothing too fancy. The setup was kept minimal also, using just window light for the majority of the shots. For the last set on the bed, I introduced a speedlight into the mix. I experimenting playing around with it as a fill light for some shots and using it as a key. I had connected to a pocket wizard, so it was wireless and hence Christina was able to play around with it.
You can follow Christina on Twitter & Instagram. Also as usual, any comments or questions, you can hit me up below in the comments.
Great shoot with Hannah Geoff from Assets recently. Hannah dropped down recently to update her portfolio. We aimed for mostly natural looks for this shoot. Any questions regards lighting or setup, drop them in the comments below.
I have been fortunate to work with various Miss Ireland’s over the years. It is always great working with such beautiful, elegant and hard working women. Sacha is no different. The Hillsborough beauty worked her way up from the Miss Antrim title to the goal of Miss Ireland. She is currently with CMPR so is no stranger to the fashion world and presenting herself well. Unfortunately success wasn’t to be had at the Miss World event, but she was a great ambassador for Ireland.
We had a great day shooting in studio, with a nice early start for Sacha for her drive down. We were aiming for a easygoing test shoot, natural makeup, nothing major. Sacha looked after her own hair and makeup for the shoot and what a great job she done. We shoot on my usual white background and we also tried out my new black corner set. It is a still work in progress and there is lots of testing to do with it to see what kind of light can be achieved with it, but so far so good.
The bodysuit look against the white wall was the more striking of the looks. It showed off Sacha’s 5’9 figure perfectly. The shots were featured in the Irish Sun in March 20th. Screenshot shown below also.
As you can tell, I have not been posting as much behind the scenes posts as much anymore, that is purely a time issue. Social Media is the best way to see what I get up to on a shoot. Click on the links on the top right. Also, if you have any questions on anything, post them in the comments below.

Lisa Hogan, dance teacher and pageant beauty. She recently represented Northern Ireland in the Miss Supernatural competition. We had a fantastic shoot recently, sporting a few different looks, some Calvin Klein and nice black lingerie. Being a dancer, Lisa is a natural when it comes to posing.
It was our first shot together and we had plans to do more dance related shots. However with the recent storms, I had a little leak in the roof and it stained the cyc wall and I didn’t get a chance to repaint it. Watch this space though for some cool dance shots coming soon.

If it just me… or is Lisa the spit of Britney Spears here?
All of these shots (except the black and white) were shot with my on camera flash bracket. I am loving that light, especially against a white wall. It is so simple, it removes a lot of distractions form a shoot and puts the attention back on the model, not the light. That kind of light does have its downsides, it can cause redeye, it can be harsh on the model and it really highlights makeup quality. It is also demanding on a the flash, so lots of batteries needed.. or a battery pack.
The images may not look the best once you load them up onto the computer, but with a few exposure and contrast adjustments it can really make them pop.

I have known Svetlana for a few years now and have shot with her before, so it was great to get her back down in studio for a proper shoot. She is a fitness instructor by trade, so naturally she practices what she preaches and has an incredible figure.
For this shoot, Svetlana wanted to off her figure and what better way is with loads of American Apparel gear. Put aside what you may think of AA’s marketing strategies, I really like their stuff. I think it makes women feel great wearing it and which ultimately make them look great also.
Lana done her own Hair and Makeup for the shoot as is well able to do it. Sometimes on shoots, it is great when I model can do their own makeup as it means one less person on set and it can make a shoot flow better and we can have more time to try out different things etc.
We shoot different looks as you can see above, a mix of white and black background. I mixed up the lighting also for some looks. I am still loving the white wall look as you can guess.
Make sure to check out my instagram for all behind the scenes shots.
